Comfort Bears has partnered with Kavanaugh Kreations to create Memorial Hug A Bears.
Each Hug A Bear is handcrafted from the clothing of your loved one, creating a soft keepsake that offers a gentle bear hug, and provides comfort during difficult times.
For every Hug A Bear created, a Comfort Bear will be placed in the arms of a child facing serious illness, terminal illness or trauma - forever connecting these bears in a shared story of love, hope and comfort.
An exclusive Kavanaugh Kreations design, the Hug A Bear turns your treasured clothing into a meaningful keepsake - offering comfort, connection and closeness when it’s needed most.
Measuring approximately 12 inches tall, each bear features soft white ears and feet, with safety eyes and nose that give it a warm, timeless expression.
Each Hug A Bear is adorned with two hand embroidered hearts—one brown, and one blue—symbolizing the unity and shared mission of Comfort Bears and Kavanaugh Kreations in providing comfort, and honouring the memories, stories and connection behind each bear hug.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much clothing is required to create a Hug A Bear?
A: This depends on the size of the clothing. One pajama set (top and bottom) size 5T or larger. Smaller sizes or infant clothing may require 3–4 outfits or sleepers. If you’re unsure we always recommend sending extra items. Any unused clothing will be returned to you.
Q: I want to purchase a Hug A Bear but I don’t have any items to provide?
A: Kavanaugh Kreations will be happy to create a Hug A Bear from a soft fleece fabric at no additional cost. (Shades of brown may vary depending on fabric availability.)
Q: I’ve chosen my clothing, but how do I get it to you?
A: You’re welcome to drop off your items in person at the Comfort Bears office located in Ancaster, Ontario, or mail your items directly to Kavanaugh Kreations.
Q: What kind of clothing pieces or fabrics can you work with?
A: Kavanaugh Kreations is equipped to work with any kind of fabrics from cotton to denim; however we highly recommend fleece/flannel pj’s, sweaters or blankets as they are soft & cuddly and provide the best hugs!
Q: How long does it take to create a Hug A Bear?
A: Creation time can vary depending on our current order volume. However, once the fabric is received, your Hug A Bear should be ready to come home within two weeks.
Q: Is shipping included in the package price, or is it extra?
A: Shipping is not included in the package price; however Kavanaugh Kreations offers a flat rate of $20 for return shipping anywhere in Ontario.
Q: Can I customize my Hug A Bear with my child’s name?
A: Absolutely! Kavanaugh Kreations offers a range of personalization options to make your Hug A Bear extra special.
